“Fashion for Paws” turned heads and raised funds for the HSSC.

Thank you for thinking of
our homeless animals
for your fundraising activity!

We value and depend on our community partners to support us in caring for the lost, abandoned and unwanted pets received at the Humane Society of Scott County in hopes of being reunited with their owners or finding forever homes.

From lemonade stands and wristband sales to fashion shows and restaurant openings, the Quad City community has come through for the animals, having fun and donating funds to promote and support our shelter.  Recent successful fundraisers held to benefit the HSSC include:

  • Pizza Ranch donated tips from guests invited to taste menu items the day before the new restaurant opened in Bettendorf.
  • Employees at local businesses pay to wear jeans to work and go Casual For a Cause to raise money for the animals’ care.
  • Bettendorf Middle School students sold “Support the Dogs” wristbands for $1 each and donated the proceeds – and the unsold wristbands – to the shelter. We sold every wristband and brought in $250!
  • “Fashion for Pawz” sponsored by Charm Boutique, Makers and Riders, The Gentry Shop and Freddy’s Fritters, gave animal lovers a peek at unique attire for people and pooches and raised dollars and donations of dog food, treats and toys for the shelter animals.
  • “Triple Dog Dare” walkers and runners – with and without pooches! – enjoyed a Dog Day Afternoon hosted by Live Uncommon and sponsored by Russell Construction, Quad City Bank & Trust and the Iowa 80 Truckstop.
